Welcome to the Farm

Our Mission

Honoring Christ’s command to love our neighbors,

Tabitha Farms provides fresh vegetables, eggs, and life skills education to people in financially challenged circumstances in our community and the surrounding areas.

Tabitha Farms

A “Giving Farm”

A giving farm grows vegetable crops and raises food-producing animals for the purpose of providing fresh food to people in the community who find themselves in need of assistance. The farm is a nonprofit entity established to promote the love Jesus Christ desires for us to show to our neighbors. It is financially funded through donations, sponsorships, and grants.

Using sustainable and organic growing practices, TF is committed to growing healthy, chemical-free food. Healthy food equals healthy bodies, and we are dedicated to provide our recipients the best we can offer. Through our life skills education we offer opportunities for participants to experience personal growth through classes that teach basic day-to-day skills.

GATHER...

TF relies on volunteers to help work the farm for planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, feeding, and egg gathering. We believe that coming together to serve our neighbors raises awareness of the needs and provides opportunities to help meet those needs through a unified effort.

GIVE...

Our goal is to give farm fresh vegetables and eggs to local food box ministries, shelters, and soup kitchens to be distributed to the community. Living with low or no income means that one must rely on the generosity of others to put food on the table. Local charities help by providing non-perishable food items, but who provides fresh, nutritious produce and eggs? ...We do!

We Need You!

Volunteer

Tabitha Farms offers many opportunities to volunteer. Come and spend a few hours, or a whole day, helping with the many farm tasks that are always on the daily “To Do” list. From planting, harvesting, field prep, weeding, feeding, egg gathering, coop cleaning, or one of the many other farm tasks, there is something that everyone can do! TF is a great place to bring your friends or co-workers for a community work day. We can also host school field trips to teach our young ones the value of giving to those in need and help them learn how food is grown.

Tabitha Farms is a registered nonprofit in the state of Michigan. We are currently applying for 501(c)(3) status. The running of the farm is funded completely through the generous donations of individuals, local businesses, corporate sponsors and grants. Beyond financial support, donations of tools, building supplies, feed, chicks, and coop supplies are all thankfully accepted. TF will always work hard to be good stewards of the money and resources that you donate.

Born and raised in Arizona, we are now full time Michigan residents. Two years ago we decided to move to Michigan to be close to our family. One year ago, Treva felt a calling to start a Giving Farm in the Greenville area. In obedience to this call, we started to lay the groundwork for the farm. We are excited to see all the wonderful things God does with Tabitha Farms in providing for this community that we have grown to love!

Who is Tabitha?

In the Bible, in the book of Acts, they speak of a disciple, a follower of Jesus, named Tabitha. She was a seamstress and well loved by her community. Tabitha was, “always doing good and helping the poor.” We named our farm, Tabitha Farms, because this is how we want to be known in our community and beyond. This is our desire, this is our hope, this is our mission.

Read more about Tabitha in Acts, chapter 9,

verses 36-43. It is a story of love, faith, and miracles!
